一、教学内容

1．词汇（略）。

2．句型： You'd better catch a bus.

3．日常交际用语：［询问方向和指点方向］1）Excuse me. Is there a post office near here? 2）Walk along this road and take the fourth turning on the letf/right. 3）It's about a hundred metres along on the left/right. 4） It's about four kilometres away. ［表示需要］ 1） Which number do I need, please? 2）I think you need a number 47.

二、教具

录音机；上一课使用的挂图等。

三、课堂教学设计

1．复习。教师出示挂图，复习上一课所学句型、单词（具体做法参考上课教学步骤3）。

2．打开书，学生看图。借助图片，教师教授本课生词及短语。

T： Look at the picture. Is it bEijing? (Ss： No.) Is it Shanghai? (Ss： No.) It's London! How many people can you see in the picture? (Ss： Two.) Right. This is a policeman. He is English. Look at this man. He's Chinese. He's Mr Fang. He's in London now. He's looking for some places. He needs some help.

重复两遍，将出现的生词及短语抄写在黑板上，引导学生猜测其含义。教剩下的其他词语。

教师领读生词及短语，学生反复练习。

3．准备放课文录音。教师为三段对话分别设计听前提问。根据学生情况，可以分段去听，也可以整课听下来。各段听前提问是：

1） Where is Mr Fang going? 2） How far is the police station? Which number does Mr Fang need? 3） What is Mr Fang looking for?

录音放一至两遍，引导学生回答黑板上的问题。再放录音，学生跟读，反复三遍。教师讲解对话中的难句（见难点讲解1、2）。

4．组织学生两人一组，用课本上所给的替换词，将对话再练一遍。

教师小结本课中出现的有关询问和指点方向用语。

5．指导学生做练习册习题。

6．布置作业

1）练习朗读本课对话；2）抄写生词、短语；抄写对话第1、2两段；3）完成练习册习题。

四、难点讲解

1．He's looking for different places. 他在找几个地方。

动词短语 look for是“寻找”的意思。它易与动词 find混用。 find意为“发现”。请看以下例句：

A： What are you doing? 你在干什么？

B： I'm looking for my pen. I can't find it. 我在寻找我的钢笔。我找不到它了。

2．You'd better catch a bus. 你最好乘坐公共汽车。

You'd better是 you had better的简略形式。“had better+ 动词原形”这一结构表示“最好做其事”，用来向对方提出建议或劝告。例如：

It's cold. You'd better put on your sweater. 天冷了，你最好穿上毛衣。

这个结构还有否定式，即在had better后加表示否定的 not，意为：最好不要做某事，例如：

We'd better not be late next time. 下次我们最好别迟到了。

3．Which number do I need, please? 我需要乘坐哪路车？

动词need表示“需要”，后面可接名词、动词不定式短语等。例如：

You need a number 47. 你需要乘坐 47路汽车。

You need to write with a pen. 你需要用钢笔书写。

4．Walk along this road, and take the fourth turning on the left. 顺着这条路往前走，在第四个路口往左拐。

这是在指点方向时常用的句式。句中along是介词，后接this road, this street, 或某条街的名称；表示第几个路口时，要使用序数词。如： the second turning，第二个路口。

5．Go along this road. 沿着这条街往前走。句中along是介词，意思是“沿着”。

It's about a hundred metres away along on the road. 在这条路前方大约一百米的地方。

句中along是副词，意思是：“向前”。
